Is Anxiety Robbing You of Vitality?

Anxiety is often thought of as something that other people experience.  It gets framed as panic attacks or something large like not being able to leave the house or look at a photo of a snake without freaking out.  I am finding that many folk have more anxiety than the realize. It may not keep them functioning, but the need to grind it out or push through the anxious feelings robs them of feeling pleasure. Their anxiety acts like a low grade fever that undermines their ability to experience vitality and feeling good.
Looking back, I now realize how much "monkey mind" was keeping my own low grade anxious feelings churning. I had got used to those feelings, so they didn't really get noticed until my adrenalin was really flowing. Overtime, this resulted in using food to de-stress, feeling restless a good deal of the time, an irregular heart beat and lower back problems. Well over ten years ago, I began to learn more about the brain and anxiety. After working on becoming less tolerant of stress and feeling anxious, I began to rewire my brain and set point for feeling anxious. Today, I intervene much quicker (with my go to shifting tools) to mentally reboot and shift my nervous systems response to life's event. As a result, my relationship with food is healthier, my back is the best it has been in decades and my irregular heart beat has all but vanished.
Rick Hanson in his book "The Buddha's Brain: The Practical Neuroscience of Happiness, Love & Wisdom," states that we our designed to be pretty chill 98% of the time. 2% of the time we may actually need to be jazzed up to fight or run when there is true life and death danger. The problem is, as life and our brains have evolved, we can create all sorts of scenarios in our head that gets us to react physiologically as if something is dangerous when it is not!
Learning to calm an over reactive nervous system is about learning to get out of your head into your life. Most of the stuff we fear never happens.  When we are calm, our capacity to take in the good that surrounds us multiplies exponentially.
Getting to calm can be a challenge so I have created this workshop to share my "go to" techniques and what I have learned on how to break free from life draining anxiety.  Whether it is a slow or rapid leak of your energy, I think you will find this workshop helpful.

Weight Loss & Stress

Why is weight loss so hard?  It is because we are battling both our body and our mind.  Our brain chemistry can drive overeating and food is a powerful drug for numbing negative emotions.
Energy psychology techniques like tapping on acupuncture points is a powerful tool for calming the engine that drives overeating.  By tapping on cravings and core issues you can learn how to “eat to live instead of live to eat.” I have personally experienced that shift through EFT.   I have lost 75 lbs. and still tapping my way towards reaching my wellness weight.  So I have decided to offer this workshop while I am still on the weight loss journey.
